Music is fun!
Are you looking for a way to enrich your child’s life and have fun learning a lifelong skill? I have taught piano to children and adults of all ages for over 25 years! I have become proficient in teaching remotely in addition to safely holding classes in my home. In today’s world, it is difficult to have kids in safe activities. However, piano lessons (either virtual or in person) are wonderful. You get a sense of accomplishment, both emotionally and intellectually!

Goals of lessons
Helping students further develop their passion for music and fostering a love for learning are my goals as a teacher.
Students have different goals depending on their level. Whether it is for playing pieces for at home concerts, school talent shows, or more challenging competitions such as NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association), I will work with you to help you reach those goals! Many of my school age students have repeatedly received the highest ratings at NYSSMA competitions year after year.

I love working with students of all ages, both young and old, to help develop their love of the piano at whatever level toward which they are striving.

My Methodology
I personalize lessons for each age group to help students develop and enhance their skills and find their own connection to the piano. I encourage students to practice through a positive, reward-based system. Students earn “Happy Notes” for practicing and turn the notes in for prizes. As we all know, learning should be challenging but fun!

ways to keep
students engaged
Laurie Resila is an extraordinary piano teacher. Generally, music lessons are a great method of giving children something to do other than to be on their phones or devices.
